Telecom Implementation Specialist

Telecom Consulting Services, LLC (TCS),is currently recruiting experienced implementation specialists for future short and long term assignments with our clients.

Implementation Specialist:The Implementation Specialist will be responsible for carrying out day to day equipment and network installations under the direction of a supervisor.

Duties
• Install and test structured cabling and cable management systems.
• Test and validate system network industry performance standards for copper and fiber optic connections and networks.
• Perform assigned work with minimal supervision.
• Perform assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Observe safe driving procedures.

Education/Experience:
• Telecommunications degree or industry recognized certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of direct experience installing and/or maintaining telecommunications equipment and systems.
• Experience working in electrical substation environments preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Familiar with the use of basic hand tools, telecommunications test equipment, and power tools.
• Direct experience with the installation of structured cabling and cable management systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of BICSCI standards and cable management techniques.
• Knowledge of T-1, DS-3, and fiber optic testing procedures and test equipment.
• Excellent customer and team interaction skills.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and learn in a fast paced environment.
• Schedule flexibility with ability to work non-standard business hours.
• Must exhibit a strong work ethic and accountability to deadlines.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to work 8 hours with overtime as needed.
• Lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Carry and use a step ladder.
• Reach stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
• Work in tight spaces.
• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Perform repetitive work with hands.

Other Requirements  
• Provide basic hand tools and test equipment.
• Provide dependable transportation to be used on assignments. 
• Some overnight travel may be required.
• Good geographic knowledge of North and South Carolina.
• Successfully complete pre-employment background and drug screening.
